What phone can survive drops. So far my Eris has been through 2 hard falls. One from little over 6ft and crashing down onto a hard tile floor and the back door flew off and I forgot if the battery came out or off, I was drunk. The other one was falling facedown coming out of the car and somehow it didn't get scratched. Totally beats the hell out of me how the screen didn't get all scratched up on ether of them. I guess it's all luck when a phone falls what will end up happening to it.
still trying to figure out if the eris does indeed have a glass screen as well. waiting for HTC to get back to me. they've told one person it's plastic and one person it's glass. many have said you don't really see a capacitive screen that isn't glass. then again there are legions of people saying the screen is plastic. who knows. maybe this drop test suggests it's plastic.

That's weird. I scratch-tested my eris with some sharp keys and nothing happened. A simple tap on the glass with something glass or metal with give a nice "glass" sound.

i haven't been able to do this as i have a very plasticky-sounding invisible shield on my screen. but so many people are under the impression it's glass. this is what's so frustrating. it's a simple question and i can't get a definitive answer. even from HTC themselves. still waiting to hear back.
