Help My HTC evo v 4g's light won't stop flashing

I'm using the stock Rom and am not rooted. Please help its driving me insane. Light is green flashes every second. I'm running ics.

Pull the battery and then plug it back in and start the phone again. see if that helps

you can also try reset the settings.
 
A similar issue was mentioned in another thread, perhaps it is the same. It usually happens after a legit notification where the light doesn't seem to clear itself after notification. Happens on my phone a couple times a month. I used to just restart the phone, then one user had a better idea, they sent themselves a text message and after checking the incoming self-message, the light would clear.

I tried both of these methods but my notification light keeps flashing

Strange, and you're sure that you don't have any notifications pending? Duplicate threads merged.

Try going into settings-display-notification flash and uncheck everything and then reboot and see if it stops.

Only other thing that I can think of doing would be a factory reset, considering that this might be hardware related that might not even solve it but it would narrow it down. Sorry that I can't think of anything else, but without root your options are limited.
