My Inc Out Of Memory Geting New Replacement Phone In Few Days...

I found my problem to be the Mail Program. I did not realize that everytime I deleted a email it went to the Trash Folder. I went in and found I had over 2,000 emails there. I started deleting them and before I finished the Storage card is low on free space icom on the top bar went away. On the SD Card I had 6.46 GB free. I guess the HTC Email program has a limit on how much space it can use on a card, even though there is lots of free space. I will now start deleting the trash at least once a week now.

I did not have to delete the mail account and set it back up, just deleted the emails in the Trash Folder, which is what I assume the Delete Mail Account does, deletes all the emails in all the folders along with the account itself. I also cleaned out the other folders, Sent and Drafts as I take care of the Inbox daily. I assume deleting mail in the Sent and Drafts also moves them to to Trash, so clean up Trash again if you clean up the other folders after deleting from the Trash Folder.

interesting. i could have sworn i'd deleted everything, but maybe i didn't.

well, i went through the folders in the mail and wasn't much there. so i don't think so that caused the problem for me. my new phone is up and running since the last reset couple of days ago. the only thing i did is i did not install the weather bug elit back on my phone. so i'm guessing that was the problem? not sure...hope the phone will run without any memory issues now.

ikediggety - I tried your method but with no luck. I still get a notification indicating I have low phone storage available.

mshepp - I have Astro and tried looking for a Trash folder but can't find it. Now, I have my phone store mail to the internal phone storage. My logic is it has 5+ gig free and my SD card is only 2 gb. Anyway, I can't seem to find the location to delete them. As noted above, the method to delete accounts didn't work. I've also deleted several apps (i.e. Google Earth..etc) that might be culprits but to no avail.

I'll keep working on it but any thoughts would be appreciated.

This problem just started with my phone. Of course, right after my 30 day return period expired. Best Buy says no exceptions to 30 day policy.

I came from the Blackberry storm and was happy to be rid of the memory leak problems, or so I thought.

I deleted my data and email accounts from the HTC app and went to K-9 and the problem got WORSE! Because apparently HTC mail is still running in the background and collecting data or whatever it's doing, which is sucking up all the memory and causing my phone to freeze, or get constant force close errors on every app running.

Now since I deleted my email accounts, I cant get into the HTC mail app to delete data. Tried deleting it every other way. Astro, ES file explorer. Nothing works.

So now I have to wipe my phone every so often or root my phone just to get rid of HTC's crap apps? Really?? This is a real pisser.

Just sent an email to HTC support. If I don't get a response that says they're going to get me out of this phone or make this right, I'm gonna raise some hell!

I'm ready to take my chances with moto at this point. F**K!

Just a quick update on my phone. It is up and running since the last reset. Still not installed the weather bug elite back on. Hope this is solwed my whole memory issues!
