Help My Incredible can't find me!!

My first post in the incredible section. Recently my incredible will not find me unless i have GPS or Wi-Fi on. Since i'm a battery nut, i leave these off almost all the time, but would occasionally like to use facebook places or get a general position in google maps, or update weatherbug. It gives me a message of Your location is temporally unavailable.

Anyone got any suggestions? I've checked all the location settings, done *228 and and of course rebooted the phone multiple times.

I'm out of the Tampa Bay area, when i went to see my parents in Naples (2 hrs south) the location settings worked.

Leave your gps on, it doesn't drain your battery unless you use it for things like you mentioned. You are just giving yourself an extra step for when you need it by turning it off.
Unless you see the satellite dish icon in the status bar, gps is not actively being used, therefore not using battery.
