My letter to the MetroPCS CEO about texting and my leaving.

Yeah I've had the texting problem on every carrier though. I've had att, sprint, Verizon, and metro. Hopefully T-Mobile works better.

ok so im a little confused on what exactly your complaint is. Are you upset that you receive text messages later than they are sent? or your text are sent later than you intend them to be sent? Either way that's because of your coverage right? isnt that the way it works with all the companies if you don't have coverage at the time texts are either sent or received when you have the coverage again you then get or send them. At least the last time i checked anyway been with metro for a few years now so don't really remember my service before; but either way id rather get them later than not at all.

Ok so someone sends me a text, and even though I am in full service about 5% of my texts show up 5 minutes later and some a few hours later up until 24 hours later, I used to be a ATT customer, and unless I had 0 service I would always instantly get texts. Also anytime I did not have service with ATT, I would get all the texts I had missed instantly when I came back into service. When I lose MetroPCS signal and get service back my messages are gone into the abyss for hours/days.

You know I've never had that problem with Metro except occasionally thus far, I did use to have this problem horribly with ATT and sometimes with T-Mobile.

Just seems like something that varies person to person, carrier to carrier.

So guys, the speed with 4G metro is ok/good, enough to stream youtube anyways. If I switch to StraightTalk, Or Solavei will I have roughly the same speeds? I don't like the idea of paying 600$ for a Note II phone then end up using it on a 3G service that is slower then metropcs. Solavei advertises 4G, Straigstalk simply states that it is 3G. But you are all saying they are the same?

Ok so what you get with Metro is 4G LTE. Its also what is being offered by ATT, Sprint and Verizon. T-Mobile does not have LTE service yet. T-Mobile has 4G which is really their 3G HSPA+ 42 service. Solavei runs off of T-Mobile's network and if you get a T-Mobile sim from ST you'll potentially have access to T-Mobile's 4G service, this all depends on how T-Mobile's coverage is in your area. T-Mobile's HSPA+ 42 is just as fast as other's 4G LTE service, but like I said all depends on their coverage in your area.

So if you have good T-Mobile coverage you'll probably get speeds faster then Metro.

Ok I just did some good research and it seems there is no difference between signing up for ATT in their stores and ST except for the price and some stupid features I don't care about, thanks a lot guys! Now I get to go dish out 600$ for a new phone :(

Anyone got a S3 or Note2 for sale for 99$? It's special black friday pricing? Just kidding, but seriously thank you guys for helping me find a GOOD alternative, I REALLY wanted ATT service just didn't want to pay 90+ for it a month so this is perfect.

Well there you go metro another one bites the dust add them to the list of over 500,000 people that have left in just the past 6 months

What matters is the actual speeds. Metros LTE was producing 1.3 Mbps for me when Verizon users are getting over 20 with LTE. My Edge speeds, 2G, are faster than what I was getting with Metros LTE. Case in point, HSPA+ in a good area should average around 10-14Mbps. I've never seen actual 3G on ANY network reach speeds that fast.

Go with ST and don't look back. Choose an ATT or Tmobile sim, which ever is better in your area. Nexus 4 is $299 straight from Google so you can have the latest piece of high tech and pay $45 a month for it. I haven't had a hands on look at the other companies so I only suggest wha I've tried first hand. Plus I like have the option of the ATT or Tmobile option for my area.

Good luck

If that means the $55 Unl stays for another month fine with me. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. :p

O OK haven't had that happen the only deley I ever have is if there is no signal never when I've had signal. But I guess that's not the norm.

People should leave if the service isn't meeting their needs.

The only reason I'm sticking with metro is because they offer me the best deal for my needs.

If tmobile were to offer their no limit all byod plan for $60 i would be gone while grabbing myself a note 2 or an lgog.

It's kinda silly to be a loyalist to a corporation especially if they aren't treating you right.

Do what's best for YOU, not them.

No that's not what I'm saying I am no loyalist to any corporation I'm saying that so they can see they're doing something wrong and to try and turn it around, if I wasn't fine with my service I would of been gone

I have experienced this texting problem a few times, but honestly I'm still happier on Metro than any other networks.
