OK, so according Root Checker, my phone has root access. But I'm still nervous to do anything with it. It's a Virgin Mobile LG Optimus Elite. Can I now download apps for free? Can I make my phone's speed faster? Can my phone now become a WiFi hotspot? Tell me some things that I can do.

I could spend a long time copying and pasting whole threads over, so I will simply direct you to them instead. The three following threads detail everything you can do (but to answer your immediate questions, you can only download pay-for apps for free if you pirate them, but you can make your phone's speed faster). And trust me, it's a lot. TL;DR You can do pretty much anything now, but if you screw up it's your fault and no one elses.

And enjoy the power that is now in your hands. Welcome to the world of rooted Android phones, where you are truly the master of your own device, not merely a 'user' of it.

In relation to free apps:

I'm sure AC does not support piracy so let's say ''no'' and say that you cannot download apps for free.

If AC did support it, there'd be a different story.

Even then android apps are low cost. No reason to be a pirate.

AC? Assassins Creed? Too much Revelations on the brain lately.

But I agree with the pirate thing. For Android, it is unnecessary.

Oops, AF* (AndroidForums) lol. I was on AndroidCentral just a second before replying to this thread. :p
