Root My Lg Volt is 4.4.2 is it Still Rootable???

If you go find the pc application for iroot, not the apk you install on your phone, but an .exe you install on your computer, it is a more powerful version of the one on the phone, it will still root the phone even on the zv4 update. i know this for a fact, as i rooted my phone after the update without cwm installed.

here is the link for the pc download: http://www.mgyun.com/en/getvroot

if the method i used that worked works for someone else, it will be a whole lot easier then downloading a bunch of gigabytes it only a few megabytes and an active interenet connection

Did you update OTA, or with the ROM on here, or was it stock zv4?
AFAIK, there are no working root methods for OTA updated or stock zv4.
If your method works for OTA updated out stock phones, that'd be great. Much easier, as you said.

I'm not sure he even has a Volt. If you are on stock zv4, by all means try iroot and let us know if it works. If it doesn't, utilize the guide I've posted above. :)

my phone is a boost mobile lg volt and was ota updated and i used iroot to root my phone, i had issues with my wifes phone, which is also a lg volt from boost, updateing and did hers through the forums update. i dont appreciate people saying i dont have something when i have posted a lot in these forums, if i dont have something i say i dont, but if i am posting in the forums saying that i have used a program to root my phone, then i means i have the phone.

No need to get all upset. Literally no other root method has worked on stock zv4, so the odds of this one working seemed slim. I've not seen your name here before, and you did not say that you had this phone. It's not impossible for someone to wander by and try to help out making a random suggestion.

Were you rooted before updating? Just trying to pinpoint the exact conditions that this worked for you. I can't test it myself, obviously, since I'm already rooted and on zv4.

it was a brand new phone like 3 months ago never rooted, i updated it with the zv4 ota update, now this phone was my back up phone cause i had the boost max as my main phone but recently switched back to theis phone, and wanted to root it, so i tried all the one click app for the phone and none worked, but the iroot app for the phone said to try the pc version as it was more powerful, so i downloaded the pc application and it took a total of like 5 minutes after it was setup on the compter, just make sure usb debugging is on when you connect it to the pc

cant even get it to download.....its really freaking out my antivirus on pc...keeps being blocked.....same with apk download to phone....avast android protection blocks it

Not surprising. Software like this often get flagged as a virus because they use virus-like methods to accomplish their goal.

A couple people have attempted to use it in the thread i linked and it hasn't worked for anyone.

Are you saying others have not been able to download it or if they have it hasn't rooted the phone.
Can you explain how you were able to download it and get it to work. Thank you

if you do get it to download make sure to check usb debugging under developer option on your phone. if you dont have developer options on your phone go into settings and tap the build number under about phone about 7 times and you will get a small pop up box saying you are now a developer. this needs to be checked to get it to work.

A few people have tried it, and yes, USB debugging was enabled, but it's not working.
