Help My Location

Everytime I use Maps or Google Earth it usually says I'm about 15-20 miles away from where I am (my house). I haven't used it as a GPS for my car yet but I'm assuming it'll be better when I get close to civilization (I'm in cornfield country) but is there a way I can make it more accurate?

Go into the settings and make sure you have the GPS turned on. I'd tell you exactly how, but my X is dead as I type, so I can't. ;-)
If GPS isn't activated, it's going to give your location by cell tower triangulation (inaccurate).

Edit - just looked at the manual --

  • Press the menu button (hard key, bottom left)
  • Settings
  • Location & Security
  • Make sure you check "Use GPS satellites" (as opposed to "Use Wireless Networks"

It's not set to use GPS by default. And turn it off when you don't need it - it's a pretty significant battery drain.
