My mac will not recognize my Hero, Any tips?

Does anybody know how to transfer info from a hero to a mac? I have a 8gb flash card and a reader but my mac will not recognize that either. Everything else is recognized by the mac. Is it because the different formats? If so is there a work around?

Alright I'm half way there. My computer did not have an icon on the home screen so I looked at the phone and I mounted and download the files. ( I know, my bad) Problem is the only thing that downloaded were the pics and I want the video I made today on the phone to download. Anybody know how to pull that off?

mount it....click on the drive....copy everything over to a new folder....I've made several copies of my sd card. Furthermore, since I use Picasa, (i hate iphoto) it automatically opens and seeks to copy any photos or videos on my phone....
