I upgraded to a HTC Hero on 3 a couple of weeks ago. I joined the forum because I enjoy fiddling with it and finding out how to do things that are not necessarily in the manual.
I am an old time IT guy, having started on mainframes with assembler back in 1970. I reckon my new phone is several magnitudes more poerful than those old boxes that needed a whole air-conditioned building to house them, along with their team of operators and punchgirls (don't mean to be sexist, but I never met a punchboy!)
My first mobile was a Motorola on Orange about 1994, about the size of a half-brick, and I have progressed through various, mainly Nokias, switching to 3 about 4 years ago.
