That's not really an error message, it's a setting. You can either have the phone notify you when you are in range of a wifi network when you are not connected to one, or check manually for networks. Which way do you want it to behave?

Go to menu>settings>wireless & networks>wifi settings and choose your wireless network. If it has security, enter the passphrase and allow it to connect automatically.

ok...I am looking around the tab apps...and i came across ADSL settings inside the Pppoe settings. I seem to recall this (pppoe) as an option in the router set-up. So...should I go into this and set up the ASDL settings? What is ADSL settings? Where would one find the ADSL User name and Password?

and I did...but it keeps going back to the notification message...i'll try it again

LOL...now it will not let me in to the Add wi-fi network...it just makes a click sound when i touch the tab...ha ha ha..

Q: what is the sound pink...pink...pink?
A: gray hairs sprouting at the temples next to ones ears..

Those are not phone settings. Are you logged into your router?

ADSL=Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line, PPPOE=point-to-point protocol over ethernet. You don't want to be messing with those settings unless you know what your doing.

On your phone ... menu>settings>wireless & networks>wifi settings

You should see your wireless SSID listed here. Tap on it and select connect, enter the passphrase and then check to allow connection when available.

ok...did everything...hit connect...it does not go to passphrase option...just sits there (no blinking or anything to tell me it is pondering my input)...and then it states...disabled, secured with wpa/wpa2 psk

pink...pink..

I got it!!! Hooray and hallelieujahs all around...I don't know who you are...but if not for your voice of support...i think I would have packed my new gray hairs in a bun and called it a night long ago..

Thank you very much...
