Help My Note 2 keeps forgetting my settings

I keep setting my Note 2 to use a particular application for opening documents or webpages, etc, and to stay on while plugged in (in developer options)... and it just keeps forgetting them every time I switch off. I love the phone and this is my only niggle with it.

Is there a way of making it remember all the settings I choose, so I don't have to do it every day?

That's weird. Which carrier's Note 2 are you using?
