My ringtones sound terrible...?

I've had the same ringtones on my past 3 phones, on my first 2(both samsungs) they sounded terrific, CD quality even. But on my Hero they sound like garbage! Is this because of the speaker? Or is there a better way to do it?

I don't like the quality sound of custome made ringtones on my phone either... i think it might be a HTC issue... idk... plus they're not loud enough, (or maybe I'm just going deaf lol)

I had the same problem with ringtones I made. Solved it by using MP3 Gain.

Hmm... That seems to have helped a little, But of course now my ringer's aren't loud enough to wake me up when I'm sleeping. Take the good with the bad I guess, thanks eyebeam.

I have 48 tones in my Ringers folder on here, almost all 192kbps with a few at 128. All of mine sound great, and they've sounded great on the past 2 samsung phones that i had. Loud, Crisp, and Clear.
