my s2 is stuck

I got an alert that an update for my Samsung Galaxy S2 to the latest firmware is available, the process reached as far as the installation percentage count was completed after that my phone froze/stuck for hours on the welcome screen, the one with the the phone model with a yellow alert icon on it. I've restarted it several times but it goes no further, i took the battery out same thing. Now it is turning on automatically when the battery is in and staying on the screen. Can anyone offer a solution to this. Thanks very much for any help.

I would check in your device forum first to get the proper answer, but did you root this phone prior ??

Which version of the GSII do you have? What update were you trying to perform, OTA? Was your phone rooted prior to the update? A little more info and the situation and we can try to better assist you.
