Help My Screen Is Paralyzed!

HSenior

Newbie
So I've been having problems with my Droid 2 lately homies. I be typing away texting my peeps using Google Voice, but then this joint freezes up on me son! I try to hit the home button, back button and all that but this mofo stays frozen! Then sometimes when I hit the home button, it takes me back to the home screen but its as if the screen slides up!

So basically my contacts, phone, etc buttons are in the middle of the screen instead of the bottom. and the bottom half of the screen is all black. Restarting the phone temporarily fixes it. What's up son, what's up?

Where you at George?! Stockton mother****er!

I have been having similar issues. Phone has been running real sluggish. The dock quick launch keys are not working at all. I have had to put shorcuts for the dialer, contacts, and web browser on the actual screen. Like you, I am also having problems while texting, with the phone freezing up. Are you running Launcher Pro by any chance? I was wondering if it maybe had to do with that? Msg me, and maybe we can compare notes.

No sir, I am not running Launcher Pro. Also, thank you scary alien for moving the thread to the proper forum, appreciate it.

My issue seems to be stemming from the stock digital keyboard. When I switch to swype, I no longer have problems while texting. After a few days of using swipe, still no problem. As soon as I switched back to the Multi-touch keyboard, the problem returns after a few texts.

Switching to swype seems to solve the problem. The only issue now is that i hate swype :(

I had the same problem, and this worked for me (thanks to the Verizon rep who suggested it):

Go to Settings -> Applications
Touch "Manage Applications"
Click the "All" tab up top.
Scroll down and find "Multi-touch Keyboard" and touch it.
Under Storage, click "Clear Data"
Restart the phone.

This is supposed to correct several lock-up problems with the phone, and it cured mine. Good luck!
