My SG3 lock screen pin won't work!!

I've not rooted my phone and I (would never) don't like to factory reset it.

I decided to put a pin to stop my brother from using my phone. It has been working smoothly the night I set it up but when I woke up in the morning and used the SAME pin to unlock it, it just won't work.

I tried the tips to bypass the lock screen but whenever I try to launch an app, it just returns to the lock screen.

Please Help :(

Mind if I ask why you would never factory reset your phone?

Sometimes its just what the doctor ordered.
 
If it's locked, does it not give you the option after so many attempts to unlock it with your google account?

Always suspicious of these threads....

I tried for about 20min and not once the phone asked me for Google Account. I suspect they are totally independent security systems.

About "suspicious", well :)
I wish to believe the users come with genuine reasons to do so.

My phone was locked during club event/party, by one of those "Mr-Funny-Dick-Prankster".
He put some tits on my wall paper and a pin. Hold it hostage in return for a drink. Naturally, I told him to F himself and proceeded to unlock it myself.

Anyway :) You have a good day ahead!

Confused .. pictures - you can transfer them to a PC via USB or just copy them to dropbox - in fact, once you got dropbox configured you can configure it to automatically upload them. Applications - again, once purchased you can re-download them as often as you want. In fact, if you signed into google, it will install them automatically when you reinstall. Ok, data of the apps, a different story, I give you that ... Granted, you can only access the device via USB once unlocked, but backups should obviously be done on regular basis :)

So yea - all that sounds suspicious. Your reasons aren't real technical reasons NOT to factory reset unless you stole / found that thing and need access to someone else's pictures and apps :p

But like we say - we are just suspicious - that's all

Exactly why I asked about factory resetting...something didn't sound right.
 
now I get it why you guys keep on saying it's suspicious! =)))

i was able to open my phone already. i kept on pressing 2321 (the pin i remembered to record) but it always failed so i tried to make up all the possible 4 digit combinations of 1,2 and 3 with 2 repeated twice and when i tried 2312, it opened.

im sorry for the fuss i caused. i was so careless about my pin. thank you so much for the help
