Root My Situation (Modifcated NVRAM.zip)

I dropped my Bionic in water and USB doesn't work 99% of the time when i connect it to PC. When I say "USB doesn't work" i mean it is not detected as a device by my any computer. Everything else works fine, SIM slot SD slot, HDMI, Webtop. Everything except USB connection to PC. It even charges fine, at the wall in the car and even connected to PC.

The other 1%, I connect it to PC and it works perfect.

One of those 1% times I was finally able to root, and was able get safestrap and CM 10.2.1.

Now I am wanting to get it working on straight talk.

I should be able to back up and edit build.prop and change APN settings from inside the phone.
I want to know if I have to have a USB connection or can it all be done by applying zip files in recovery, and where can i get the files?

Found a page mentioning a zip to edit NVRAM or NV items maybe? I couldn't find a download though.

I can copy those to SD card and move them and apply them but I can't establish any kind of ADB connection.

So am I out of luck? Do I have to wait for USB to start working again?

UPDATE:

I have found some new info and it looks like all I need to do at this point is the nvram edit to unlock the gsm radio.
Turns out the nvram is an image file and it is flashable, but how to edit the thing?

I know in radiocom i would need to delete first 16 characters of Data: (Hex) and replace them with 8703E804000200 on line 1877, NV_RF_BC_CONFIG_I.
but how could I change this in a zip?
