Help My Texts Delete Themselves

On a very regular basis, my phone appears to wipe its entire text history, without warning me it's going to or even letting me know it has - I just go to open up my texts and they're not there. Anyone know what causes this, and how to turn it off?

Do you have a lot of texts when it happens? The phone can only hold so many.

# of texts is irrelevant - the most reason time I only had half a dozen.

Very common problem...mine has done that 5 times since updating to Froyo. Per HTC it's a known issue and there "should be a fix for it in Gingerbread" if and when we ever get it.
