Help my vibrate does not workwork

I just purchased a vzw nexus off someone and the phone does not vibrate, not even haptic feedback(yes it is turned on) the seller claims it worked for him prior to when i factory reset i. Any ideas?
 
jarod, I don't want to say you've been lied to, but if it doesn't work after the steps you've taken, chances are it didn't work when you got it.

I do have a couple of questions that might help get you an answer though and I'll check back to see if I can help. Are you running stock or are you rooted and running a ROM? If running a ROM which one are you running?
 
im going to be tearing down the phone because my charging port just went up in smoke. could anyone show me where to purchase the vibrating assembly for this phone. might as well replace it all at once
