Help My xoom died :(

It will not charge. Tried multiple plugs in my house. The charging led will not turn on and my xoom will not turn on. I don't know if its the unit our the charger that went out. iam very sad:(
 
As a fellow Android lover, and a European who cannot even get the Xoom yet, my heart is crying from your story.!

Can't it charge from USB? - Try from a computer?
 
I always paid for my gadget using American Express. It will give you an additional 1 year warranty after the original manufacturer warranty expires. It's good to have =) I know some other credit cards (e.g. Amazon card) offer similar benefits.
 
I posted this same issue last night. After church today I ran back to the VZW store and they checked the charger with a new Xoom. It didn't work with it either. So they gave me the charger that was in the new box, and it worked.

It doesn't seem like the most robust charger or connector I have ever seen. Hopefully this won't be a long term issue.
 
Right. For reasons that boggle the human mind, the creators decided that--instead of charging from mini-USB, like nearly every other bit of electronics--the Xoom will be done in a different manner.
 
actually from my understanding its a simple matter of the 5 volts from teh usb port being insufficient to charge. it needs 7 volts iirc.
 
Twice now my Xoom has refused to turn after charging--completely unresponsive. I found that a "forced reboot" (volume up + power button) did the trick though.
 
My Xoom's LED doesn't come on most of the time when charging. It does sometimes (white when charging, green when complete), but only sometimes. It DOES charge, just no LED.

Is anyone else having this issue?

I figured that might help but I wasn't about to force reboot everytime it would refuse to turn on. Also the firsxoom I got had nasty fingerprints on it out of the box, probably from those nerdy blue shirt kids at best buy.

I would like to report that the one I exchanged for had no fingerprints and has not had the charging issue.
