Help MyBackup Pro Question

What's the correct path for the external SD card for MyBackup? I have my backup files loaded on the card, but the app refuses to recognize it. Should it be mnt/sdcard-ext/rerware or something else?

Thanks,

Mike

If you loose your phone, and have your back ups saved to the sd card, basically you have lost everything,, now if you back up to their server, you can retrieve all info, then down load it to your new phone.. The only problem, is you have a limit , i believe of 100 megs of space,, so if you have alot to back up, you can purchase more space, usually it will cost 10 dollars a year and possibly more accordingly, how much data, apps, and pics you keep on your phone.

I'm not tracking. I HAVE the backup on my SD card, in the new phone. I copied it from my old phone. MyBackup Pro is not recognizing the path to the backup file, or its not recognizing the file. I'm not sure which, so I'm trying to make sure the path is right so I can eliminate one of the possibilities.

As far as I know, the SD card is /mnt/sdcard-ext

If you download Astro File Explorer, you should be able to see for sure. (Astro probably default to /mnt/sdcard - the internal storage area - but you can press the "Up" arrow on the toolbar to switch to sdcard-ext.

You can try entering in /sdcard-ext as well - it may not require the /mnt

Last thing, if it still doesn't work, you can just manually copy the data from your external SD to internal storage and see if MyBackup Pro likes that instead.

Hi.
I have the same problem as Coronach, I can see the rerware files on my SD card card using Astro and from my PC but am having difficulty mapping the location so that MyBackupPro can find it. Otherwise how do I manually copy the data from your external SD to internal storage?

Again, if you have Astro, this should be easy enough. In Astro, long-click on the folder that you want to copy and choose "copy" from the pop-up menu. To get it to the other storage, there is a big "Up" icon on the task bar - tap that until you get to /mnt.

From there you can go to the other card (sdcard-ext is external, sdcard is internal) and then click the "Paste" icon in the task bar.

Thank you for all your help. I went round and round in circles and then thought that if I could backup anything new that I have on the phone, I could then find that location and move the files there and then restore from that location - that might have worked if I hadn't changed the location settings. So I decided to uninstall and re-install MyBackupPro. Then I just tried the restore button and Voil
