N4 in Colours?

Hi all....

Will the N4 be available in any other colour than Black? I really wish it does because I am planning on buying two of them - one for my partner and another for myself and we sure don't want us getting our phones mixed up.

Thanks

Edit: Admins. sorry, but I wanted to add this to the "Nexus 4 Watering Hole" thread and not start off a new thread!!!! Just wasn't thinking!

I would normally say there could be a chance, but with the Nexus I think not. Not because Google and LG wouldn't bother, but because of the pattern on the back.

Phones are normally released in white and black, I just can't see this being recreated on a white phone.

You never know, they made a white GNex

Until then... Get a case?

According to someone who works for Google, a white one exists. Whether it'll be sold on the play store or not is still a mystery. My guess is you will not see one at launch though, so if you want one now I think you are out of luck.

I haven't heard this? Who?

Thanks!

@ Woosh...Yep, I read something like that too. Yeah, I suppose a case is an option (for my partner, not me though!)

Take a look at this guys... According to Verge, there is a White Nexus 4 on the cards. It clearly shows on that captured screen shot, unless it is heavily photo-shopped.

In which case there's just hope.

On Carphone Warehouse's current N4 pre-order page has no evidence of a white Nexus 4.

Wonder what happens to the sparkly effect on the white version (if there is one)

I hope so! About the sparkles etc...maybe they will do it in gold or in black!

It's not unusual for Google to make a version of hardware that's "developer/employee only" and never release it to the public. One of the early Samsung tablets that they handed out at a conference had a unique back pattern of little androids that was never made commercially available. The white N4 that's rumored could be the same. On the other hand, they may be holding it back for a refresh in the spring (about the same time I would expect carrier-specific versions to make an appearance).

I sure hope to God that this is not the case! Why would Google only release a single version (in terms of colour, that is) of the phone. What happens in a family of say 4 who all have the N4?

When they ask Henry Ford if his cars could be had in different colors he said yes any color as long as it's black. However! With time you can now find one in almost any color imaginable if you paint it. So time will tell.

When I called O2 today, they told me they had the black one in stock but not the white.

As I've seen nothing of a white variant I took it with a pinch of salt...
