N64oid update to 2.0 available! [UPDATE: 2.01 available, SGSII sorted!]

Quick heads up that the long awaited update is now available at Slideme.

UPDATE:
New version out at Slideme, fixes the SGSII issues - the new engine is brilliant. Goldeneye plays perfectly smoothly at full speed - awesome stuff! Especially with my 2nd gen Phonejoy with dual analog sticks.

I am pretty sure I read at XDA that it is GPU related on the SGS2. He is looking into it IIRC.
It seems to be better for me in many games although I was expecting it to be even better by now but we are progressing so that is good.

Tried updating but it is asking me for payment information. I had paid for it when it was on Android Market so took advantage of the free period when it was ported over to SlideMe thinking I would be able to update for free but apparently not.

Don't want to pay $3.99 again for the same software and just receive the updates :(

Why the hell do we have to pay for this now? The SlideME market was incredibly difficult to navigate at all, hence why I never even KNEW how to made an account... Now suddenly you have to pay, while you already have the app?

Hopefully the update for the app will appear free soon to those of us who already payed for it once. im not paying 3.99 for a game i already bought to be updated. and i was so looking forward to the update too =/

Slideme does not associate free apps with an account. That is n64oid was $0.30 for a while so that people could register it to their account and not have to re-pay the full price for upgrades. You can try emailing the dev to see if he can work something out for you though.

I paid more than $3.99 when it was on the market the first time. I won't be paying for it again.

The guy ran in to some crap with the android market, give the guy a break, pay the $3.99... my God, could you be any cheaper?

less to do with the amount, more to do with most people not wanting to pay for updates. yea, he ran into some crap but that doesn't make being charged for an update any less irritating.

Not sure if you know. When this app was first released, he charged like $6 for this app. The first version was a beta and not all roms worked. Also the app did not run on certain "high end devices". So of course people rated it low because of the high cost for basically a beta app.

After it was pulled from the market, I think the dev made the right choice in releasing it as a free app until stability and compatibility issues were improved. I think the 2.0 update is what he believes is the stable release of his app so that's why he's charging again.

At least you got to try it out for free and didn't have to pay $6 for the older versions. :) I think what would be irritating is paying for an update on a paid app.

I think you should contact the dev about that. Hopefully he has a record of your payment and let you upgrade for free.

i actually did pay the 6 bucks first =P

I also paid the original $6 for the N64oid app, and I'm pretty sure I got it when it was free on SlideME WITH an account. I don't understand why SlideME doesn't seem to keep free apps in a user's history.

I did. Here's the response:

" I am sorry you have to pay again on SlideME, because there is no payment record shared with the Android Market. I really feel sorry for this, and appreciate your understanding.

Thanks & Regards"

I'm not very happy about this at all.

What about the email receipt that you should have gotten? that should prove to some degree that you bought it from him, and the account that you used. so wouldn't be be able to just send the update to that account? otherwise hes just milking it for more money
