N7 '13 headphone volume issue

Lurker
I have the original N7 '12 and have very low volume through my headphone jack. I've used both high end headphones and low end and no difference. It's so bad where I can't even hear movies during air travel. Has anyone had better luck with the new volume on the new N7 '13? I'd like to be sure this isn't a reoccurring theme since I'd love to pick up the '13 soon.

I can't answer your question but I wonder which video player you use? I use MX Player and when I increase the volume to the "maximum" recommended level (still far too quiet!) level I get a pop-up asking me to confirm I want to exceed this level, allowing it to go a lot louder.

The actual maximum is louder than I normally need using my preferred portable open-back headphones (Sennheiser PX100-II) unless the ambient noise is extremely high, in which case I use my in-ear phones (also Sennheiser) which sound even louder and offer a lot of isolation from the surrounding noise - any louder gets quite uncomfortable.

The same pop-up appears with the stock Google music player so I assumed it's an android thing that works with any app but I don't know for sure.

I've just been using the stock Google movies player which yes does give that same volume warning. I'll have to give MX a shot and see how that works out.

I get the same low volume when I was using the Neflix app using Philips noise cancelling headphones (over the ear). Disappointing.

Tried my headphone jack on my new N7-2 yesterday and the volume is just as loud as my Galaxy S3 (which is plenty loud) using my Audio-Technica noise cancelling headphones.
