N7 for school

In my secondary (high) school I was allowed to use a laptop because I'm dyslexic, but I found it was really annoying to carry around so I'm hoping that in college (senior high school) I can use the Nexus 7 with its hopefully incoming keyboard

Well of course you can :D

Remember, in college you are an adult, and treated as such. You can carry and use a laptop or tablet, or even both, and use them in the classroom. Just don't get caught n Facebook:p

Sorry you misunderstand me, I said college (senior high school).
College in the UK means education from 16 - 18, it's the final two years before university which is what you call college.
I couldn't say high school though because it doesn't sound right to me

You people are weird. :D

On the subject of ebooks, for anyone learning in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you might want to know that the exam boards OCR, WJEC, AQA and Edexcel all have endorsed electronic textbooks. Haven't been able to find any by CIE.
For Scots, I haven't found any endorsed by the SQA

If you can get most of the textbooks online in PDF it will help out a lot, I know I didn't enjoy lugging around the math and science books. So far there doesn't seem to be a good stylus for handwriting notes, so you'll have to type them.

In this day and age I could see schools adapting the use of tablets. After all this is a digital era so why not?
Also consider if students were using tablets they could use that same tablet for a number of years. The only thing that would change is the content on it.

My school bought half of the first year* iPod touches for some unfathomable reason. Not as though you can do productive work on them or connect them to a screen or anything.
Although I agree, proper tablets such as the N7 would be a good addition to schools I think, especially if it has a proper keyboard.

*England & Wales = Year 7, US = 6th Grade

I've removed off-topic discussion. Please be aware of your language and please do not post about having to carry books vs carrying a tablet. This is about discussing textbooks being placed on tablets, specifically the N7. Thanks.

Kindle Textbooks, can buy or rent. Not sure how relevant this is to HS courses.
