Lurker
I am trying to install easy tether on my Samsung epic 4g phone to tether with my iconia a500 tablet. It asks what operating system I use & gives my the choices of window 7, vista XP and so on. I am not sure what to respond since I do not want to thther to my laptop. What are the operating systems of my devices. I contacted Amazon customer service, but they were no help.
Thanks,
Colby

The tablet runs Android Honeycomb (3.2).

Unless you root you may not get it to work. The stock kernel will not connect to ad-hoc (device to device) networks, which most tethering tools create from your phone's WiFi. To fix that you would need to root and replace the kernel with one that supports ad-hoc connections.

It might be easier to root your phone and install mobile access point
Help, how to setup MobileAP (infrc.) on Epic 4G so i can use my Samsung Galaxy Tab - xda-developers

But that is an old post and would have thought that updates to your Epic operating system (Android 2...) would have already given you mobile AP by now.
My Samsung galaxy S on android 2.2 (Froyo) has mobile AP

I would have thought so too. Even my low-end Samsung Galaxy Fit has the MobileAP option which makes it a breeze to tether my A500 to the phone. It was also one of the reasons why I did not opt for a 3G version of the tablet.
