Help Name of text sender on lock screen?

Is it possible to see who sent you a text just by the look screen? Currently all it says is 'Message' and I psyically have to unlock the screen and go into messages to see who it was from.

i been trying to figure out how to get it to show name and a bit of body message.

but looks like u cant.. sadly.

How about a third party app like Chomp or Handcent that will pop up over the lock screen?

I've just downloaded chomp. Looks really good. I'll wait for someone to text me but hopefully this will fix it, thanks

for me i choose not to use a third party app for texting. i love lgs stock texting app.
i just wish lg made the phone have more customization

I know I'm a couple months late to this conversation but my G3 does show the name of the person who texted on the lock screen. I'm not sure what I did to have that happen though. I thought it was by default the G3 does that.

I just wanted my screen to light up when I get a text & I read in another forum about an app called NILS (notifications in lock screen). Not only does it light up my phone when I get a text there's several other options, including a notification bar across the middle of the screen telling you who the message is from & a preview. I've found this to be very useful.
