Root nandriod backup

I have the V8 ultralight rom and the 928 theme. When I do a nandriod backup, can I take everything off my sd card but the backup file or do I need to leave certain things on it for reboot? I am a noob but not completely retarted. I love this theme, but have a lot of questions. I want the battery status indicator from the R1 theme and the startup animations from the velocity theme. V8 is faster on my phone than velocity 0.2. Please advise.

You can copy your nandroid backups off your sd card and store them on a computer, drive, etc. If that's what you're asking?

Actually I want to know if I can do a nandroid restore with ONLY the backup file on my sd card.

Pretty sure it needs to be within the folder structure that the backup process creates. Example nandroid/mem=?/list of backups

Aslong as you have that folder structure I don't see why you couldn't have that as the only thing on the card.
