Root Nandroid Back-ups

I am currently using the new Amon Ra Style Recovery for Supersonic and have partitioned my micro sd card. My question is what exactly do I need to nandroid backup to beable to nandroid restore and have the ROM and apps ready to go without having to reconfigure them? Currently when I nandroid restore I have to reconfigure my apps from the app drawer to the home screen that I want them on to use them, before partitioning I didn't have to do this.

The big thing after you partition is you need to make sure you check "sdext" as part of your nandroid. That's where all the apps are stored.

I do select that as one of parts for the nandroid, the problem I have is when I restore instead of the app icons on my homescreens I get the generic android app icons and then when I click on the app it says it can't find that app. So then I have to go into the app drawer and bring out the app I am looking for to the home screen it was on prior to the nandroid back up. Do I also need to make sure that I nandroid android secure folder?

Hmm, that sounds like once you restore the system thinks your apps are on android_secure (sometimes causes that issue on restores), which it definitely shouldn't (and you shouldn't have to back that up). Maybe someone who has been partitioned longer than me can chime in...

Also, I wonder about that recovery... I've been reading many complaints about that "amon ra style" ( not made by the original dev of amon ra) as well as the twrp one... That's why I've stuck with the tried and true original Amon Ra 2.3....

Yeah I've been debating on going back to Amon Ra 2.3, not sure I'm happy with this Amon Ra style recovery, and if this is an issue with this recovery then I definately going back, haven't had an issue with Amon Ra 2.3 ever.
