Root Nandroid Backup Files

This may be somewhat of a silly/dumb question.....but can I rename the Nandroid backup files that I have made doing backups before flashing ROMs? I would like to know which one is which and I don't want to rely on my memory to have to remember. If this has been answered before, I apologize. If someone could point me in the right direction this thread can be deleted if it is old news.

I have renamaed them on my computer and all was fine.

BUT a heads up, stick with basic names and don't use anything but letters. I have never had a problem with names like (original - second - third) and also keep a backup on your PC just incase.
