Root Nandroid Backup

New to the ROM stuff and am wondering if nandroid backup/restore restores the previous rom or just apps and info? Just not wanting to start over with the app install process!

When you make a nandroid it saves your entire phone as it currently is. It will restore every setting, even texts.

Does that include the ROM too? Meaning, i have changed from a stock ROM to Niles 3.0. Will the backup return me to stock GB?

Every detail. If you made the backup on stock, it will return you to stock.

If that's the case, you can download titanium backup, save your app settings, flash the new rom, and restore your settings.
