Root Nandroid Ext.

Hello,

I recently purchased a used rooted Nexus 4 that had been factory reset. I noticed my 16gb nexus has much less capacity. Using storage analyzer, I found 2gb was held in downloads, specifically in certain ext. files. As i understand, this is used for backing up , however since it is new- i have never performed this action. Can i delete the files?

data.ext4.tar.a
system.ext4.tar.a
system.ext4.tar.b

cheers

I may be wrong, but .tar files are archive files like zip. The ".a" and ".b" look like they're for multiple volumes. EXT4 is a file system Android uses. So it looks like you're right about these being backups for the data and system partitions. Since you can download the stock versions of anything for the Nexus 4, they should be safe to delete if they don't have anything you put there yourself.
