Root Nandroid/new install question...

pandacookie

Panda-riffic!
I have a Nandroid of an MIUI setup that's pretty sweet. The new version came out Friday and I just now got to downloading it. On other phones, all I had to do was wipe cache and dalvik cache and then I could install the rom over the old setup.

My question is: can I restore to my sweet MIUI setup and then wipe cache and dalvik cache and install the new rom? Or do I HAVE to wipe and Superwipe and all that? I would hate to have to set up MIUI all over again.

Thanks in advance!!!

If the developer doesn't list it as an option in the op for that rom version, chances are you'll bork things trying this.
You've made a nandroid backup of your epic setup, give your thoughts a try, you really don't have anything to loose. If it works = Winning, complete with tiger blood, if it fails, just restore your epic nandroid! ;)

I really won't advise this to folks because there are always things floating around when the new info is flashed. This "can" interfere with your new rom setting up properly. My not so famous analogy applies here...I think....

You have a junk drawer at home, everyone does it's inevitable, and in said drawer is a bunch of gibberish randomly thrown in there. Often when you put anything in the drawer it doesn't close properly because of all the "junk thrown in there randomly, sticking out in all directions getting in the way. Now if you clean the drawer out, completely and neatly and in an organized manner put the stuff back in the drawer, it works great. It will close and open with ease and works as it should.

If you wipe your phone completely before you flash a rom your chances of a successful flash are all but guaranteed. :)
