Root Nandroid restore to different phone

bmo21

Newbie
Ok, so I had to send my phone in for repair (squaretrade) and I had done a nandroid backup then unrooted it just in case of a warrantee issue. Instead of fixing my phone which they have done in the past, they sent me a new/referb phone.

Can I use the nandroid back up from my old phone on the new one? Obviously they are both Dinc's

My concern is that if they refurb my orig and give it to someone else that my new one will essentially be a clone of the old one and didn't know if would cause issues. Like it has the esn# from the old one.

I could not send email from my GMAIL account or delete any mail in that account. I thought eveything was working fine, but it seemed to cause weird problems.
I gave up and started from scratch last night and only restored apps and data from Titanium Backup - excluding system data.
Good luck

Can't use a nand backup on a different phone. The MEID is different and it could cause all sorts of problems on the network.

Thanks so much guys, probably should have used Titanium backup as well. Oh well, upside is I get to try your new gingersense 3.0. Been loving the 2.1/3.0 and didn't want to take the time to switch. Now I have a reason. Thanks again.
