nasa.gov offline and unavailable?

Unfortunately we don't do advanced things like sonic booms. They could be landing in a Shenzhou spacecraft. which is basically a copy of the Russian Soyuz, which is launched by a Long March rocket, which is pretty much a copy of the standard Soviet rocket. The same one that launched Yuri Gagarin into orbit in 1961.

Nothing like tried and trusted technology is there? :D
:) Speaking of old flying machines...

While wide awake all last night I decided to watch several silent movies I'd recorded. One of them is a short by Georges M

SPLASHDOWN!

I can recall the return of Apollo 11, which thankfully for a 4yo didn't involve being woken up in the middle of the night like its arrival at the Sea Of Tranquility. I still blame Neil Armstrong for my late-night lifestyle. :)

I'm sure the European Space Agency will ensure that the needs of the ISS are serviced while NASA is otherwise engaged. Heck, if it means free Mongolian Crispy Duck I'm guessing they're praying for extended downtime. :D

i'm still trying to figure out how they are supposed to get back to Earth without a shuttle program

The Astronauts that go up there go up in threes and come back 6 months later in the same group of 3. They have been using the Russian Soyuz Rocket to get up there, and then ride back in the Soyuz capsule. The US is close to having its own rocket system, currently called Orion.

Life on the ISS is quite interesting, I love watching all the videos from up there, and love watching it go by in the night sky. A topic that I can talk about all day, and one day wish to see in person

And then you have the old Orion project...

Another unfortunate casualty of the shutdown is the Do Not Call Registry. To which spammers have been taking advantage of. Grr. NASA website being shut down is bad. Census, okay, I can get the same information elsewhere. But when I receive calls throughout the day that should have been blocked. They better get this stuff solved now!!!

The real question is: why didn't NASA opt for the annual hosting plan?

They would have saved $2-3 a month and not have to worry about monthly billing.

If anyone knows anyone at NASA tell them to ping me. I have unlimited bandwidth and can host as many domains as I want with my plan. I'd only charge them a moon rock or two for a year's worth of hosting.

Hey wanna do me a solid? XD
