Help "National coverage not available" when sending MMS *fix*

So, it seems that several of the Android phones have been having a problem sending MMS, either through Handcent or stock text messaging app. I have never had a problem receiving MMS, just couldn't send.

Worked with VZW tech support for hours. Things we tried:

1. Checked all switch settings (their end)
2. *228, option 2
3. turn off phone (battery pull)
4. Checked, unchecked, rechecked all settings on phone

Ended up that a factory reset resolved the problem. Problem is, I had completed a factory reset not more than a couple of months prior trying to fix some of the 2.2 issues.

Just an FYI if anyone comes across this issue.
