Help Native email application in Ice Cream Sandwich problematic

mmp

Lurker
I have just purchased an unlocked SG Nexus from Google, which I am using with AT&T. I have configured 9 non-Gmail POP accounts in the Email application. Emails are downloading and being sent fine, but the problem is that the application does not seem to have a "Select All" option when it comes to deleting emails. They have to be selected and deleted individually, and then I have to do the same thing in the trash folder.

Is there a workaround? Is there a better, downloadable Email application on Google Play?

Ugh. I forgot all about that. It drove me crazy on my original droid. I don't mind not having it in the Inbox (I can make do with deleting multiple emails with the checkboxes) but I completely forgot that there is no way to empty the trash. No select all. No Empty Trash button. I have about 600 emails sitting in there that I forgot about.

Arrgh.

I used to run K9 on my old Droid. Maybe I have to go back to it... I can't believe that google hasn't added this 'feature' after 2 years.

Much like the original poster, I too and new to the GN and use non gmail on pop . (I have 5) And use ATT. One other problem is I get a bunch of blank emails, not date, not nothing and then I get some blank emails with the date of12/31/1969.
Has anyone else had this problem?

We are talking about the EMAIL app not the Gmail app. The "trash" is stored locally on the phone and cannot be deleted all at once.

My mistake.
I forward my roadrunner emails to Gmail. Maintaining emails in multiple locations was annoying.
I can send my roadrunner emails from Gmail as my roadrunner acccount.
