Root Navigation - Checking navigation availablity

Navigation not working, always hung on display saying "Checking navigation availability" tried clearing maps data, cache etc.. downloaded gps test....still the same.....

Anyone face the same?

Looks like there's lots of info on the subject, together with some solutions that have worked for others.
