Help Navigation Starts up on its own

Does anyone else have this problem. For some reason, the navigation app will just start it self up. I thought maybe I was accidentally touching the shortcut on my home screen so I removed it, but it still happens. I "went along with it" as it asked me to show my gps settings since I have gps disabled. So I enabled it to see if it would bring me to a map, but it just brings me to the default navigation screen. Any idea's?

Running 2.2, stock rom, but super user access.

Well, I'm pretty sure your phone is just being exposed to something magnetized. The car dock is basically just a dock with a magnet in it.

For instance, my wallet has a money clip on it. Anytime my phone is anywhere near the wallet, it either goes into Navigation or into the Clock Dock, depending on which side of the phone is touching the magnet.

So just keep it clear and you should be fine. :)

Unless, of course, it's something else.

Thanks for the idea but not sure thats whats happening as car dock never opens, just navigation. The last time this happened, the phone was on my bed. I went to go turn the screen off and the navi icon was up top. I do not think my bed is magnetized :-).

Anyone fix this? My Desire HD does the same. I don't have it near magnets - does it randomly at night too. Have tried different ROMs - still the same.

my htc desire hd running android 2.3.5 has just started doing the same thing (late jan 2012). navigator opens up on its own randomly then tells me to turn on the gps. without doing so it's hard to kill the app and it just runs in the background with the icon on the upper taskbar. if i do shut down the app it just opens up again and keeps asking for the gps, etc, etc so on and so forth. and, as anybody with this problem knows-you can't uninstall navigator... i wonder if anybody in this forum knows how to inform htc of this (apparently) recent problem so they can send us out a fix. if it helps i only updated my android software recently...

Mine (Motorola) started doing this recently, also. I saw on another website that it has something to do with the latest version of the OS.
It's making me crazy and eating my battery.
