Anyone else having problems with the nav system? My og DROID,and DC always worked excellent ...the Dx2 has run me in circles twice and today it silently just dropped out...just turned itself off......upon discovering it was off,I turned it on and the phone froze and rebooted ....for the 5th time....I've about had it with this thing...

I forgot to mention that I've done 3factory resets since I've got it,at verizons request to fix the 5th audio popping skipping issues that they cannot resolve.

What options did you choose for your location based services when you first activated? You could choose up to three services including GPS, Google and Verizon. I think that screen is a reaction to the "tracking scandal" recently in the news regarding Apple and Google. I found that I had much better luck with getting an accurate reading on Maps and Navigation if I checked all three options. Currently I am using Google and GPS (not Verizon) and Nav seems to be doing well.

You may also want to install the GPS Status app which allows you to reset the signal.

I think other threads here suggest the "popping" may have to do with Flash and it's taxing the processors. Have you tried uninstalling Flash yet? You can always reinstall it again if it doesn't make a difference.

I checked to allow google to track, and GPS,I didnt allow verizon.....I thought google was what was used for the navigation system.Ill try enabling all 3....thank you...
I will uninstall flash, but I get the pops when a text comes thru or gmail syncs, neither should require flash, but its worth a shot! Thanks again....

This past weekend,we made a 1.5 hr trip, into an area with weak signal...so once into the trip,we lost 3g and cell coverage for a good half hour, the GPS signal continued to work,as did the turn by turn nav....however it suddenly tried to detour me into taking a really remote side dirt road, when i was on a northbound main road.....it did this twice,I knew I had to go north,so i continued on against the navigations will...because at this point I didnt trust it...it had done this twice already in the past week.Worst part is with no 3g or cell signal i couldnt pull up an actual map to see where i needed to go....all locations were set to allow tracking.Combined with the low ram, sluggish performance, and audio skipping,I returned the DX,I dont trust the turn by turn nav,and thats 1/2 the reason I have the phone. Its been flawless on the DX and D1....reactivated my DX today, and now I have a trusted companion again....Im hoping the DX2 gets sorted out,I really wanted to love it....

Buy a dedicated navigation program like Navigon and you won't have this issue. I trust Google navigation as far as I can throw it.

In all honesty google navigation in my DROID x has been excellent, this is the first issue I've had in a year and a half of use....
