I've never had a smart phone like this, so hopefully this isnt too dumb of a question. But is it necessary to shut down the phone and restart it once in a while. Once a week, once every couple days, never? I feel like this thing is a mini netbook so just getting an opinion on how to properly take care of if. thanks!!!! :)

I wouldn't bother unless something crashes it or it starts acting up. It's not something you should have to do normally.

I have only had this beautiful phone for 31 hours but maybe like once a month I would reboot my Hero when it felt like it was running slow. I am sure at some point I will do the same with this but I have been punishing this phone for about 24 of the 31 hours and it hasn't slowed down an iota

It's just a matter of you feeling like it's getting a bit sluggish. Resetting it doesn't hurt anything. Some people make it a habit of doing it everyday first thing, others never do it at all. It's basically the same as a computer, do it as you feel like it needs it.
