Need a better calendar...

[actofgod]

So I switched over to launcherpro, and thereby lost access to the HTC widgets (as far as I could tell). I like using a full screen calendar widget and the one that comes up now (I assume LauncherPro stock) is an utter embarassment.

You can't long press on dates to enter an "agenda" item, and it just doesn't seem to sync very well or accurately when you do actual manually input dates.

Any replacement suggestions?

If you pay for LauncherPro + you will get full screen "sense-like" widgets including a calender. I think your talking about the android vanilla calender white and blue.

There is also pure calender in market it is paid app as well. I never searched hard to find a free calender app, but surely there are a few?

The launcherpro+ widget was the one I was referring to, it looks nice but it has awful functionality. AWFUL. I downloaded Jorte, seems nicer although isn't as sleek looking at the sense-type calendar.

Google needs to release its own GCal app in the Market!!!

When I was using ADW launcher I was using Android Agenda Widget. Worked VERY well and had plenty of support.

I personally use "Business Calendar". It's been in beta for quite a while but just recently went to final. It now has a free version (which is still labeled as Beta for some reason) and a paid version. This calendar is pretty sweet and as close to a google calendar as you can get (except for one from google). Check it out.

I use Jorte. It has many widgets that can be customized to many sizes and colors, transparen backgrounds, agenda view, week view, full month, etc.

That's why I just deal with the sense launcher. The widgets are too good.

I've been trying out both Calendar Pad and Jorte. I would recommend Calendar Pad--it's much cleaner and I like the scrolling options a lot more. What I did was a 4x4 Calendar Pad widget on one screen plus smooth calendar on my main screen (along with date, time, weather etc).
