Need a favor !

Hi Everyone,

I need a favor from someone with a Prevail or similar phone.

I am using RealPlayer 0.0.06, free from the Market..... Now, there is a new version ( 0.0.10 ) available, but the UPDATING does not work, I am getting download errors, on the PC and on the device. Even called RealPlayer support, and they said they have some sort of a problem right now, but not all users experience this problem.

Could someone please try to download the app, which is about 24MB ( it's big ) and possibly get me the .apk file ? Thanks in advance,

Rather than updating, you could try uninstalling your current version and just installing the newest one. Could be that updating is the problem. But if not i can give it a go when I'm near wifi

Yes, that's what I just did, and cleared the DATA/CACHE from the Google PlayStore and DownloadMgr....... Now I could install it.

now for real player, i use it on pc. i just dl to prevail and it takes up all that mem space. when i load anything else it uses a little and more for data as it builds. why does the whole 35 get subtracted from mem. and not just part like everything else? wierd, i can dl a 25 and only loose 5 or so. this, lost all 35?

yup, same here.. it's a memory hog, but it seems to run well if it does....... It's still in beta I believe and I also have troubles after I finally got it to install. It's playing movies just fine, but not regular mp3's ! I am in contact with RealPlayer Tech. Support.......... They say, there's maybe a fix in 7-10 ays......... Yeah right, we'll see.....

PS: Also, I did the in-app upgrade for $4.99, but this does NOT work either ! Play Store recognizes you have paid and says "Thanks for purchasing......", but the app does not download or unlock the additional features after purchase. Sucks.

The weird thing is, that if I uninstall RealPlayer and re-install it again, I can play song, but as soon as I go back to the main menu I can't anymore. Serveral people left comments at the App-review on the market that if they select a song to play, that the app is going back to the main screen.

Have you noticed that to cwhatever ? Or does RealPlayer 0.0.1.1 works fine for you ?

same thing here with songs and won't play vids or show pics.

It's weird........ Video ( all of them ) play just fine, incl. sound..... Pics displaying fine no problem at all.... Music ( I only have mp3's ) does not play reliable.

Situation : If I go to Manage application, select RealPlayer and "clear" Data & Cache and restart RealPlayer, music plays fine. If I close the app or do the in-app upgrade, it stops playing music. Until I wipe the data and cache again.

Cwhatever, can you try to clear your data and cache for RealPlayer, restart the player and just select "Songs" and try to play the first song ? I'd like to know if it works, so I can relay that to the RealPlayer team.....

well songs is working and won't play all vids only some will play. pics is working fine too.
songs works every time any way.

And I noticed something regarding memory !

RealPlayer beta 0.0.06 = No Ad's = about 2mb
RealPlayer beta 0.0.11 = " AD's " = 35mb

Same situation with :

Rockplayer Pro = No Ad's = about 6mb
Rockplayer Lite = " AD's = about 25mb

So the big memory eater must be the Ad's or Ad-engine..... Who knows.

Hey cwhatever,

RealPlayer update on 8-16 !!!

- Now only needs 13MB
- and App option to move to SD-Card

Sorry to say that the in-app upgrade still doesn't work for me. All player functions work fine, except if I do the upgrade, I don't get any additional features as sold to me for $4.99 and after trying to do the upgrade, no music will play anymore....Video still works fine with sound !
