need a good sms app!!!

do u got z4root, barnacle wifi tether in that order,titanium backup,strattalkin is a fun one when it work rite. myxer for ringtone.scanner radio lets u know what da police is doin in yo area.talkin tom cat. tunein radio.music downloader. that should get u started

Well you obviously didnt search very hard. A search of SMS App brought up thousands of threads. In fact, there is two threads on sms apps right now in the first page on this sub forum.

Wow, no offence intended but are all the senior members such pricks. Maybe the guy is just an android noob and is looking to get started.

Nathan92, I personally like Handcent SMS but there are many to choose from, ya might try looking at AppBrain.com it's a great site and gives recommendations based on ratings and popularity ect...

I really like Go SMS. You don't have to use bubbles and it's small and to the point. Not a bunch of unnecessary garbage.
 
Handcent, free from the Market, is both popular and tried and tested. It has loads of configuration options to suit most people.
Would be a good place for you to start.

If you don't want the "bubble" feature then select...

Settings > Custom style > Bubble settings > Conversation style > Android

And he should learn more about android by searching, and spending a few hours browsing the forums here to LEARN. If every single Android newb posted every single question they had about android in a new thread, the servers here would probably shut down due to overload. Again, I wasn't trying to be rude, but when you ask a question like that, probably the most popular question on here, and you ask it without putting any effort into finding the answer yourself, that really annoys most everyone on here. Which is probably why he didnt get any responses besides mine.

And I dont care if you're a newb or not, NOBODY can answer your question if you dont provide details to what you are looking for, what you have tried before, what phone you have, what carrier, etc...
 
I second the handcent SMS app. I have used it since I started with my moto droid back in november of 09. gives tons of options for theme conversation style etc. you can eve change the font color and background color for individual conversations.
 
You don't have to use bubbles with handcent. You can set the conversation style to "Android" and there are no bubbles, just a simple list.
