Root need clarification on rooting droid incredible 2.2

I just got an incredible with 2.2 and would like some clarifiaction or rooting.

If Im rooting for the first time which unrevoked would be best?

Do I just download unrevoked3 then unrevoked forever to get forever?

Do I really need forever if unrevoked3 has the option to turn "S" off an on?

What is the benefit of forever over unrevoked3?

What are the primary benefits of rooting? any questions answered would be appreciated.Thanks

S-OFF is set by default in the latest unrevoked. Forver is no longer used.

Thanks just finished rooting my phone everything worked perfectly following the above link.
