Accessories Need Clear Replacement Battery Door... Please Help!!!

My new Evo HTC phone has recently expressed to me it's extreme displeasure in the fact that all of its pimped out, red, droidy goodness is being covered up by a solid black piece of rubberized plastic.

It's ready to get out and show it's sexy self off to the world in well, lets just say, a more revealing outfit.
I've spent a lot of time searching the net and have so far found nothing.

Please help me allow my Evo to be all "it" can be.

If someone would like to start a poll and try to gauge what the interest might be for both a clear and a red option, I have the contacts and means to make it happen. Response would need to be pretty darn good though for me to consider it. Price wise, you'd probably be looking at somewhere around $12.95 per cover.

Good idea. This wasn't a thought for me until reading this thread, but I think I would be game for a clear or different colored battery case.

Making the mold it self is outside the abilities of 99% of people, add to the difficulty of working with clear resins and you've put your self outside the skillset of 99% of hobbyists.

It is definitely not easy to make your own mold as MiDri has suggested. If this were to come to fruition it will be professionally sourced. Just not sure there is enough demand.

If it didn't have all that red tape covering things i'd consider this as a good idea. I just picked up the amzer white hard case so that works for me as far as having a white phone (which I dont understand why it wasn't available at launch).

I totally agree. It reminds me of the tricked out pager I used to have and my old Nextel I760

I would like a clear battery cover as well. Gizmodo has a post about it, saying that they should come out with one.

Heck, I would just like a replacement battery cover but I can't find one. I contacted HTC, and they don't sell them. I did manage to find someone on Ebay selling the OEM part, but they want $30 for it, a little pricey I think.

On another note, why not pick up a clear cover and just put it on with the battery cover removed? I know, it's not the same, but might hold you over until someone sees the opportunity here.

I wonder, how much would I have to put up front to get a run of covers made? Clear or otherwise...might be worthwhile.

I think I had posted in another thread about this, but there's a company www.coveroo.com that said it's one of their highest priorities to have custom battery cover replacements made for the EVO. They didn't have a projected date when it will be available, but they did say they are currently working on that.

I wish they made cases because the one that my co-worker has for her iPhone is awesome (adds much less bulk than the seidio cases), but coveroo said that they don't intend on making a case.

Why don't you just buy this instead and take off the back battery cover:

Seems what you're looking for and if it is meant to snap on to the back of the device, it may work alone and without the back cover.

Just an idea.
