So i just did the revolutionary tool and it flashed clockwork mod recovery, then the screen went away on my computer... My phone is left on the revolutionary screen with options for bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader and power down, umm , what do i do now? Just making sure I dont mess anything up, im kinda new to this, thanks

Ok, just rebooted, and phones just running, got a little nervous for a second, didnt know what was supposed to happen... Can someone point me to the right thread saying what steps to do next to flash a GB rom, or any other kind? Im just looking for something close to stock, GB, better battery, more stable and quicker... any suggestions?

first thing you should do is boot into clockwork recovery and make sure it flashed.

power off, power on holding vol down. the white screen with colored letters in hboot. chose recovery with the volume rocker and power button. that should take you to recoverey.

now you can reboot. you can remove bloat, flash a new rom, whatever you want to do :)

thank you guys for all your help, this is definitely opening me up to this phone more and more. The capabilites seem endless and awesome!!! Just renewed my interest for the phone like when i first got it. I have the clockwork mod recovery flashed... Its the blue screen right? I used that to install SU from zip, downloaded the check root and everything seems good. Now i just have to figure out which ROM i want, and how to flash it correctly, still reading...

There are soo many options... I just want the phone to be faster, use less battery, and be able to use wifi tether. I kinda like the sense UI since im familiar with that, and im guessing its the most user friendly to start with? So should I just flash the new GB? Or is there another one that is better, that also will not ask me about updating when the OTA rolls out...

I would suggest a custom rom over a leak so you don't get notified of the OTA. My current perferred dev is Th3ory, his rom list is here Thr3adTh3ory The Official Th3ory Rom List - xda-developers

oh, do i need to flash kernels, and radios seperately? Or is there just one flash that does it all?

Once you decide on a rom you will need to download a radio as well. You will flash the radio in hboot then reboot and delete the radio zip. After that you reboot to recovery and flash the rom.

ok so i think i decided on cl3anth3ory (if thats how its spelled) and the 802 radio... Does that sound like a good choice? So before I do this, i just want to make sure i do it right...
I need to copy the 802 radio zip to my sd card root, then reboot into the clockwork mod and run that zip? then reboot , delete the zip off the root folder of sd card, then copy cleantheory zip onto it, and run that with clockwork recovery mod (run zip file from sd option...)? and once i do that, thats it?

Yeah I think cleantheory is a close to stock rom currently (not 100% sure as I haven't flashed it) it is based on the newest leak so it will likely get attention for a while from Theory.

You will need to go ahead and download the rom and the radio file before you flash anything. Once downloaded you will rename the radio file PG05IMG.zip and place it on the root of your SD. You flash radios in hboot not recovery. Turn fast boot off then power off, power back on holding volume down, that will get you to hboot. It will read the SD then prompt you to update, follow the directions and then reboot when prompted. You will not have any signal so do not be alarmed. Delete the radio off the SD (or move it to a folder) and flash the rom in recovery (power down, get into hboot, select recovery) make a backup, wipe, and flash, then reboot and you are done.

did the radio, backed up, wiped data , wiped cache, not its installing the cleantheory, hopefully all goes well, this seems much easier that i thought it would be!! Thank you soo much for all the help!! Do i have to reroot , or does the rom keep root? Thats my last question, i promise, lol, thanks again

Wow, these roms are night and day difference, definitely loving it!!! Thanks, now time to tinker more with this phone!
