Need Help ASAP

Got a question for you guys. I am currently on 2.2 generic from HTC. I wanted to go to the Telus RUU so I could send it back for warranty. I found the Telus RUU and I just need to know what the procedure is from going from generic to Telus branded. Since the phone is now unbranded I was unsure of the risks. Tried to use google but didn't get very far. If anyone has any information on how to do so, or if I just update the rom that would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean reverting to 2.1 or can I just plug in my desire, and run the Telus ruu.

You may need to revert to 2.1 if your current software version is newer than the TELUS version
