Help Need Help! Cannot transfer any mp3/video files to intercept

Hi, i just bought the Samsung Intercept for Virgin Mobile and i have been trying to learn how to operate it but cannot for the life of me figure out what im doing wrong when it comes to trying to transder mp3/video files to the sd card on the intercept. I already know people have had problems with the usb cable not connecting properly and have my fill of that.

However currently it is connected and i have an F drive which is the intercept but when i try to drag and drop any mp3 or video file a notice comes up saying that the file cannot be found on my pc yet i am able to play the file on my pc and transfer them to my mp3 player. I read that someone said to create an audio or music folder on the F drive but it wont let me. It says the same thing as before that the folder cannot be found, does anyone have any suggestions, im at my wits end over this.
 
Do you have any sort of UAC activated? or any permission's that may be set on your computer that might prevent you from moving files or folders? I honestly can't think of anything other than that at the moment but at least it is something to check out.
 
UAC is activated but i dont need to give any permissions to just drag and drop. The two sony mp3 players i have never needed special permissions to drag and drop, this really bites right now. I am now back to fighting with my pc and it recognizing the usb connection but it keeps rejecting it, lame.
 
Ok, so i downloaded katy perrys newest album off of amazon and that went fine, however i have F drive back again on my pc but i see nothing in F drive, shouldnt the katy perry album be showing up??? I dont see any folders for anything, not even amazon, wtf?
 
I know it's stupid but are you making sure you activate USB mode on your phone after you plug it into your computer? If you don't do that it won't recognize the SD card.
 
Ok... Assuming the Galaxy phones are all pretty similar, this is what I had to do (adb connections would fail too):

* Unplug phone from PC.
* Unmount the SD card from inside of your phone.
* Pull SD card from phone.
* Turn phone off.
* Turn is back on (Leave the SD card out).
* Put SD card back in.
* Connect to your computer.
* Mount as "USB Storage".
* ???
* PROFIT!

Give that a whirl. Fixed the issued with the durned thing coming up as a "Corrupted" CD-ROM drive, and adb started working again.
 
Thanks for the replies everyone, i have tried all of that and tried connecting the phone to 4 pcs and all of them came up with errors when connecting. So i gave up and just installed SwiFTP and it can't be any better now that im dragging and dropping via wifi. In fact, i ran into people with android phones who were having the same problem so im going to teach them how to run swiFTP to.
 
Glad you got it workin in some way. Sorry we couldn't help more. I work for a PC repair shop and I am sure you know, it is really difficult to repair a computer or figure out problems online or over the phone without physically seeing what is going.
 
I use SwiFTP Server all the time with FileZilla FTP client and find it works very well.

BTW, for those that want to do syncing and don't have a USB Modem driver, or otherwise have problems with USB connectivity, I suggest they investigate MyPhoneExplorer download for their phone and PC and use a WiFi connection for that as well. The only thing you need to do is set up the ports properly on your PC firewall, so the PC software will find the phone when it is running the MyPhoneExplorer app for syncing.

Back to moving files besides using FTP, I have been doing some experimentation, and on my high-end M6400 laptop from Dell, find connecting to a USB2.0 port hit-or-miss. However, I have recently discovered that when connecting the phone to a USB1.1 port (either on the USB keyboard I use, or provided by an LCD display I have), the connection is 100% reliable first-time, every time.

It is as if the android usb firmware or hardware in this phone has difficulty negotiating the connection protocols over a faster USB2.0 interface, but over 1.1, it seems to have no problem. At least this is my mental model of what is happening.

BTW, there are USB1.1 hubs that can be purchased if you don't have a Keyboard or LCD that replicates a slower speed port for other peripherals...

I too have experimented with suspending power management on my USB2.0 Hubs / ports in device manager, and shutting down and removing all sources of power from my laptop (including the battery) before booting back up.... Sometimes this works, but not all the time.

The USB1.1 ports seem to do the trick for me.

ES file explorer app found my home wifi network, and connected to my win7 pc without a hitch. I copied everything I wanted through the wifi. Astro had issues.
