I recently restored my phone to factory settings, intending to update it and re-root it and all that. I restored it, and tried updating it, but every time I try to update it, it says update failed. When I try to update it, the phone turns off, then turns back on and goes to Clockwork Recovery Mod. I select reboot device (because none of the other options really made sense), my phone boots to normal, and I get a window saying it failed. Help?

I'm guessing you're trying to get .605 on your phone. You first need to get back to stock .602 and you can't just unroot and clear data. Too many things have already been changed. SBF using the .602 file and then take the OTA update to get to .605. After that you can reroot and do whatever you want.

most roms disable the update feautre, so you were probably basically trying to update the rom. but im not sure on that
no idea, i did all this to my phone months ago and i forgot what rom i installed. i still have to unroot it, i suppose.
i pretty much rushed into whatever i was doing when i first rooted my phone, and didn't really know what everything meant and did

VZW updates require your phone to be completely stock and unmodified in anyway. So you are defenitely SBF'ing your phone.
